Tomorrow is Valentines Day

Tomorrow is Valentines Day when many people send roses, chocolate heart shaped boxes of candy, and teddy bears to those they love and desire. If someone can't afford a gift then that person can go to any dollar store to find a beautiful red or pink heart shaped Valentines card for the sunshine in his or her life.

Other people will purchase diamonds or a cruise for that special someone. However, there are less expensive ways to show love to another human being. If finances are a problem then a less expensive and more genuine ways to express love and passion for the important person in one's life. Some of these ways are writing a poem, fixing a meal, or taking a long romantic walk. I sure that there are other ways to express one's love on Valentines day besides purchasing expensive gift and acquiring more debt.

Success Saturday: Valentine's Day and Leftover Christmas Candy

I'm alone on Valentine's Day. I have no one to share the day dedicated to lovers. No one sent me roses. No one sent me a heart shaped box of chocolates. I made breakfast for myself this morning just as I do every morning of the year. I do have candy in the house. I have leftover Christmas candy to celebrate the day of love.

I have gourmet candy corn that taste like peppermint to eat with my coffee. I like the candy corn. I like the coffee. Once in a while I would like to be able to share the candy corn and the coffee with someone. I don't want to share my apartment with someone, I just want to share a carafe of coffee and some candy. I would like to be able to cook for someone else beside myself once in a while. I would like to have someone take me out to eat on Valentine's Day or to a movie. I would like someone to send me a heart shaped box of chocolates (never mind that chocolate isn't on the diet the doctor gave me) and a dozen red roses.

Thanks to the peppermint candy corn and strong coffee, I will be over this mood shortly. Once the mood has passed I will be able to get back to writing and doing housework. This morning, I got on a step stool and put the clean bath towels in the cabinet in the bathroom. I also put the clean sheets and pillow cases in that cabinet. This week I wrote two short stories and a poem, so I have had some small successes this week. I'm looking forward to getting back to my normal routine after Valentine's Day is past.

Monday Motivation: Valentine's Day

Valentine's day is twelve days away, but it is already motivating me to write bitter love poems. The poem I wrote today is called "Valentine's Day Lament" and it is about lost love. I am alone on Valentine's Day. I have no love interest. I am not interested in finding a love interest (pun intended). I like being alone most of the time. I enjoy writing bitter love poems, which are based on past experiences.

If I was to find a love interest then he would have to have... I am not sure what I am looking for in a man. I know I would want one who is creative and spiritual. I want a man who believes in the equality of men and women. I want one who is willing to look at my religion with an open mind. I guess I do know what I want in a man after all. Sometimes I have to write my thoughts down in order to figure out what I want.

Tomorrow is Valentines’ Day

It’s that time of year again,

when couples are giving each other

flowers and chocolate

in heart shaped boxes.

I’m single

so the only one to buy me flowers

or chocolate

is myself.

I have to go out tomorrow to pick up some Band-Aids and coffee. So I may as well buy myself some chocolate. I’m not going to get myself flowers simply because I prefer chocolate. I prefer chocolate over almost anything else, with the exception of coffee. In fact, my favorite coffee drink is café mocha.

I like café mocha so much that I keep instant hot chocolate mix at home so that I can have café mocha whenever I want without leaving the house or going to a special coffee shop. I should buy some more hot chocolate mix tomorrow when I buy the coffee. That way I will not run out of either coffee or chocolate.

Since tomorrow is Valentines’ Day and I’m single, I will need several cups of café mocha to get through the day. Being single on Valentines’ Day is interesting, I almost said not fun, but it can be fun if I approach the day with the proper attitude. A cup of hot café mocha will help improve my attitude about Valentines’ Day.

I went to the supermarket a few days ago to get coffee and a prescription. I went down the isle to find the coffee and I heard an announcement over the loud speaker. It said that Valentine’s Day was to celebrate “our” love and it encouraged couples to buy gifts for each other that they could share.

What does a single person do on Valentines’ Day?

Valentines' Day is Sunday, February 14. It is the day of love and lovers, the day couples give each other special gifts such as roses, chocolates, etc. For the past couple of weeks I have received spam in my e-mail boxes about the perfect Valentines' Day gift. As a results of these spams, I have determined that the perfect Valentines' Day gift is a beautiful greeting card containing chocolates, diamonds and roses.

This is very good if one is part of a couple and likes chocolate, diamonds, and roses. I am single; I am unattached and therefore not part of a couple. What do I do for Valentines' Day? The only person who might send me a beautiful Valentine card is myself. I am not going to send myself a card, flowers, a box of chocolates, or a diamond for Valentines' Day. I do have a chunk of bittersweet chocolate in the fridge, which I could eat on Valentines' Day. That does not answer my question.

I still want to know, what does a single person do on Valentines' Day? I could write bitter love poems, but 99% of the love poems I write are bitter. I guess I will stay home and see if the neighbors receive flowers on Valentines' Day.

I am looking for a Valentine's Day Gift

I am looking for a Valentine's Gift something special for 2010. I want a gift that says I love you; I appreciate you, and thank you for being in my life. I also would like it to be one of the Top Valentine's Gifts for 2010. I want to give a memorable gift, not unusual, but unforgettable and associated with our special relationship.

I prefer chocolates myself, however, I realize that not everyone wants chocolate, can eat chocolate, or considers chocolate a special gift. My idea of a perfect gift is a combination of chocolate, flowers, and jewelry or clothing. The person I am giving the gift to like all of those items. The issue now is to figure out the perfect gift for Valentine's Day 2010.

The year 2010 is special because it is the end of a decade. The last year in the first decade of the twenty-first century and that makes Valentine's Day 2010 special. I believe a special gift is necessary to celebrate a special year and a special day. Therefore, the gift I give on that day needs to be special as well. That is the reason I think a combination gift would be a good idea.
