I am looking for Gourmet Food

I am looking for gourmet food. I am look for something my mother has never tasted. I am looking for something I have never tasted. My mother is 89 years old; she has begun trying new combinations of foods and foods she has never experienced. Therefore, I am searching for gourmet foods.

Mom does not eat huge portions, but she does eat more when part of the meal is a food she has never tried. I am looking for items I can incorporate in our daily meals that will encourage Mom to eat more. Mom also eats more when the food is for a special occasion.

I am looking for small food gifts that I can give to Mom to encourage her to eat. I am looking for things like Caviar Gifts, which Mom can eat for snacks between meals. I am looking for gourmet foods from across the world that Mom and I can enjoy together or serve when family and old friends visit.

I am looking for foods like caviar, truffles, or capers. I know Mom would like any of these items because Mom always enjoys new taste sensations. I love gourmet foods myself, I like finding new treats that Mom enjoys and I can give to her as a gift. Mom enjoys eating new foods and getting little gifts, therefore, I am looking for gourmet foods I can give to Mom as gifts.

I am looking for a Valentine's Day Gift

I am looking for a Valentine's Gift something special for 2010. I want a gift that says I love you; I appreciate you, and thank you for being in my life. I also would like it to be one of the Top Valentine's Gifts for 2010. I want to give a memorable gift, not unusual, but unforgettable and associated with our special relationship.

I prefer chocolates myself, however, I realize that not everyone wants chocolate, can eat chocolate, or considers chocolate a special gift. My idea of a perfect gift is a combination of chocolate, flowers, and jewelry or clothing. The person I am giving the gift to like all of those items. The issue now is to figure out the perfect gift for Valentine's Day 2010.

The year 2010 is special because it is the end of a decade. The last year in the first decade of the twenty-first century and that makes Valentine's Day 2010 special. I believe a special gift is necessary to celebrate a special year and a special day. Therefore, the gift I give on that day needs to be special as well. That is the reason I think a combination gift would be a good idea.

    11 Qawl 164 B.E. - Sunday, December 2, 2007 about 6:00 PM PST

My birthday is December 24, there are nineteen writing related items I would like.

    1. A Premium membership on writing.com
    2. A set of four colored ink pens with blue, purple, black and green ink
    3. A new leather bound pen and ink journal
    4. My own web site with a .com after the name
    5. The complete works of H.P. Lovecraft
    6. A notebook computer
    7. A digital camera to photo graph stuff for my blog
    8. A voice activated tape recorder to record my ideas
    9. A printer that has scanner and fax capabilities
    10. A $100 gas card so that I can drive out of Las Vegas and look at the stars (this has to do with writing poems)
    11. DSL Internet hook-up this makes it easier to use tab browsing without loosing the Internet connection
    12. A vacation to a writers' conference
    13. An office that isn't in my living room
    14. Another telephone line into the house
    15. A central air unit that is big enough to keep the entire house warm without raising the electric bill (writing in a warm house would be nice for a change)
    16. Roses in my front and back yard instead of oleanders (roses don't make me sneeze and it's easier to write on the patio or in the front yard if I'm not sneezing)
    17. Less spam in my in box and junk mail folder (this will give me more time for writing)
    18. A house that cleans itself (this has to do with more time for writing)
    19. A new office chair for my computer desk (the one I have was used when I got it and it's about had all the use it can take without falling apart)

    Opening a Gift

    2 Qawl 164 B.E. - Saturday, November 24, 2007 about 12:27 AM PST

Daily Writing Practice Prompt: Write about opening a gift.

Today is November 24, in precisely one month on December 24 I will be sixty-one years old. I have a very specific way to open gifts. I do it very carefully and methodically. I look the gift over carefully and find the locations of the tape. Then I attempt to remove the tape without damaging the paper. It isn't always possible to remove tape without damaging the paper, but I attempt it anyway.

I think I do this because my Grandmother always encouraged us to save the paper from our present. If you took the tape off carefully you could reuse the paper. She didn't use it to wrap another present, rather she used it to line dresser drawers and shelves. My Grandma Newland was a great recycler. I learned a lot from her especially when it came to recycling colorful wrapping paper.

I'm not sure I'll get a gift I can unwrap on December 24. It's been a long time since I received a wrapped birthday present. Usually the present comes in a colorful paper gift bag or an envelope. Last year I received a gift card to a book store.

I enjoy receiving gifts wrapped in colorful paper. Unwrapping them slowly, while I anticipate what I'm getting. I enjoy keeping the paper a few day and considering using it to line a dresser drawer or something similar. I enjoy looking at the bow and remembering my Grandma, remembering her carefully putting the bows away and using them again on a package.
