Midweek Reflections on Writing, Sleeping, and Cellphones

Weariness sets in
Eyes attempt to stay open
I yawn stretch and yawn

It's difficult to write when I'm sleepy. The problem is that if I lay then then I'll be wide awake. I'm tired because I didn't sleep well last night and then didn't eat a proper breakfast before I left the house this morning. I didn't get enough sleep because my cellphone got turned off somehow and I couldn't get it turned back on.

No comforting phone
clutched in my right hand last night
so I couldn't sleep.

That probably wasn't the reason I couldn't sleep because I normally don't sleep well at night anyway. However, the idea does make a good poem. Right now I would like to turn the computer off and take a nap; at least I would If I could fall asleep when I sit down on the couch or laid down in my bed. I could probably sleep if I turned on the television, but I don't want to do that until I've finished some of my writing projects today.

    Huawei Surprises

Pedestrians were surprised when a pop-up phone charging appeared on a street. Click on the video below to see how they reacted.

    Writing Coffee on Saturday Morning

I made my coffee a little weaker then usual this morning because I thought I had about a scoop and one-half of fresh grounds in the canister. I dumped those into the basket of the coffee maker and then added another three scoops. At least I think I added another three scoops, since I needed a cup of coffee this morning before making coffee I am not sure how many scoops I added.

I also need a cup coffee before dialing my cellphone of a morning. I know this because I dialed the wrong number when I attempted to call my wireless provider to see how many minutes I had left on the phone. I used a lot of minutes yesterday while waiting on hold, so this morning I decided the check my minutes on the providers website; however, when I logged in it did not show me how many minutes I had left.

I dialed the 800 number, which is in my phone's memory. Instead of dialing the wireless provider, I dialed my brother in California. Fortunately, it was one of my brothers I dialed and he was not upset because he is used to getting weird calls from me at odd hours of the morning. I finally dialed the proper number for my wireless provider and found how many minutes I have left.

    Weird Wednesday: Butt Dialing

Every Wednesday for the past four or five weeks my brother has been butt dialing my cellphone. It is always on the same day, but not always at the same time. I know it is a butt dial because he never answers or leaves a voice mail. I called him today to see if anything was going on and found out everything is normal there. I knows that it is common for men to butt dial because, unlike most women, they keep their cellphones in their back pocket.

I presume that most women do not keep their cellphones in their back packet. I keep mine in my front pocket, my purse, or hanging around my neck when I leave the house. If I stay home then it is beside the computer or near the love seat. Maybe I ought to get a pair of jeans with back pockets so I can put my phone there. I need a new pair of jeans anyway and purchasing a pair so that I can butt dial someone is just as good a reason as any.

I can use this butt dialing experience in a story or poem. I am not sure how to begin a story like that as yet. Given me a little time and two or three more butt dials I will figure out a good first sentence or paragraph plus a plot.

Midweek Reflections: Frighted by the ringing of my phone

Frightened by the ringing of my phone, I know it sounds like a good title for a horror story. However, for the past week or so I jump every time either my cellphone or my land-line phone rings. It is getting a bit irritating and scary, I do not know why the ringing of the phone startle me. I would like to find out because it could indicate a problem with my hearing or some other physical issue.

My cellphone rings several times a day and it is usually wrong numbers or someone trying to sell me something I do not need and could not afford even it I needed it. I find myself getting bitchy when the same people call me wanting to talk to some man I have never heard off. I have ask them to take the phone number off their files and it does not good.

I will attempt to have my cellphone number removed again, but I doubt that I will have any better results. In the meantime, I have to figure out why the ringing of my phones startle me. This started at the end of May or the beginning of June; therefore, I think whatever caused the change occurred in middle or late May. I cannot remember anything unusual occurring at that time. I think I will attempt writing a horror story about being afraid of the ringing of a telephone. I wonder if there is a phobia covering that, if there is not then there should be.

    It's Daylight Savings Time Again

Daylight savings time began this morning at 2:00 am, when the clocks were sit ahead one hour. Fortunately, I have only two clocks I need to sit ahead. One of the clocks is on the electric range, I sit it ahead last night. The other is on the microwave and I have not touched it. I may not sit that clock ahead because it takes me about five or six minutes to do it when I remember how.

I never look at the clock on the microwave. When I want to know the time I check my cellphone or one of the computers. The time on those are automatically set ahead either when I turn them on (the computers) or whenever the cellphone automatically jumps ahead.

Every year, at this time, my sense of time is messed up for about a week because of the change. This forces me to check the time more often to make sure I am not late for an appointment. This year I have my gym time to consider as well as doctor's appointments, all though I have only one of those this week. I have two morning classes and two afternoon classes at the gym. My goal is to get down to 180 pounds, which is the weight on my drivers license.

    I Keep Losing My Cellphone

I lost my cellphone again  today. This is the second time I've laid it down and forgotten to pick it up. Now I have to go back through the house and find it. There is no excuse for this because I have a little blue crocheted bag to put it in and then hang the bag around my neck.

I know I either left the phone in the kitchen or in the bathroom. When I do dishes or take a shower, I take the bag off and lay it down. The problem is that sometimes I forget to pick it up again. I'll check the kitchen when I go into make a cup of hot tea. After I put the water in the microwave, then I'll check in the bathroom to see if I left it in there.

When I leave the house, I put the cellphone in the bottom of my purse. I do this because I don't want to be tempted to answer it while I'm driving, but I do want to know if someone calls. Another reason is that, if I turn the phone off then I forget to turn it back on. Putting it in the bottom of my purse prevents me from answering it when I drive and I don't have to remember to turn it back on when I get home.

    Losing my cellphone
    is problem when I'm home
    unless someone calls
