On the news this afternoon, they said that gas prices are going up. This means staying in town and no vacation or even a staycation without a financial balancing act. My doctor is on the west side of Las Vegas, so I will have to see what else I can do on that side of town when I have a doctor’s appointment.

I need an international holiday vacation

I need a vacation. I need to take a winter holiday and visit another country. Since I have ancestors from Scotland, Ireland, and England, I would enjoy going to one of those countries. In fact, the more I think about Scotland the more I want to visit that country. I want to see a Scottish castle and hear bagpipes echoing through the rugged mountains.

I think I would like to visit the Southern highland of Scotland. I want to take my mother and my nieces with me. My mother would like to see the Northern highlands, while my nieces want to see Edinburgh and South-West Scotland, so I would have to pick some place that everyone could enjoy.

Maybe I should choose a caravan park. I am sure we would all enjoy this type of holiday. I have not taken a vacation in several years because I do not like to travel alone. I enjoy family vacations and holidays. I think this comes from my childhood.

I remember the caravan holidays from my childhood. My grandfather and my cousins' parents would take us to lakes where we camped out. I enjoyed those vacations because we took them as a family and everyone had a good time. I think a vacation at a caravan park in Scotland would be fun especially if I could visit a castle.

Maybe I don’t need a vacation after all

When I am not writing, I think about writing so maybe I don’t need a vacation. I think about writing when I am washing dishes and as a result, I wrote a poem about washing dishes. Yesterday, I wrote a poem about a Christmas miracle, when I went to bed; I thought about the poem and decided to divide one line into two lines. It turns out that dividing the line made the poem read better.

Vicarious Vacation Defined

I need a vacation; however, I am unable to get out of town at this time. Therefore, I am taking a vicarious vacation, which sounds like a good title for a short story or flash fiction. My vicarious vacation consists of reading travel blogs, looking at the pictures taken by other people, and imagining myself in those locations.

I am a writer with a good imagination, so a vicarious vacation is somewhat relaxing. I may not be as relaxing as a real vacation, by this, I mean a vacation in which I physically go to the mountains, the ocean, or a national park, but it helps me get away mentally and my muse enjoys the adventure.

I would like to take a real vacation, but because I am my mother’s caregiver a real, leave Las Vegas, vacation is difficult. I can take periodic stay-cations when I can find someone to stay with Mom. A stay-cation is difficult because it cost to have someone come in and stay with Mom. In addition, Mom gets angry if I leave her with someone else, so I have to be extremely careful about picking the times I get away from the house.

I took a five-hour mini vacation

On Thursday, September 9, 2010, I took a five-hour mini vacation. I went to a bookstore, where I bought three writers' magazines, a blank book, and a new mouse pad. After that, I completed some business, went to the grocery store, and then to a fast food restaurant.

I need a vacation or a little time by myself

It's Saturday afternoon, March 6, 2010, and I realized today I need a vacation. I also realized that I'm not getting either a vacation or a little time by myself. Therefore, I'm just going to have to figure out how to handle the stress another way.

I look out my window,
I see a cloudy sky;
the clouds are a mixture
of gray and white,
of light and shadow.

My life is a mixture
of joy and tears,

Planning a Writer's Summer Vacation in Winter

I need a vacation, but it needs to be a writer's vacation. A place I can relax in the summer without distractions from writing. The only way to do that is to plan a vacation this winter. One of the places I would like to visit is Daytona Beach and a good place book that vacation is through daytona beach condo rentals.

Daytona Beach is not the only spot in the world I would like to visit. Therefore, I need to look for vacation rentals in other parts of the world. I want to visit many places this coming summer. Places I have never visited in my younger years.
