The beginning of a busy week

It is the first Sunday in September. It is the beginning of a busy week. Tomorrow is Labor Day, so Mom will not go to the daycare center because the center is closed. Today we ate pizza for lunch, but I am not sure what to fix Mom tomorrow.

Then the next four days, I will spend driving across town on business. My life sounds boring. I need to do something different. I need to get out of my rut. It is not impossible to write in a rut, but it is difficult. The only view I have is the view from my living room window. I need a different view I need an office.

I have a spare room, so I could set up an office in there, which I could set up as an office. However, I need to be in the main part of the house when Mom is home. Even if Mom is asleep in her bedroom, I have to remain in a room where I can hear her cries at night. I have to leave my office in the living room so that I can hear Mom in the bedroom; therefore, having an office in which I can close a door is not a good idea. My office stays in the living room. The one thing going for the spare room is that it has a nice view of the backyard.

I want a new office chair

I want and I need a new office chair. The one I have now is several years old; in fact, I do not know how old the chair is because I bought it at a garage sale about ten years ago. The seat of the chair is splitting and when I roll it, the chair squeaks. I want a chair that is does not make any type of noise when I roll it across the floor.

The office chair I have is dark brown and it does not go with my light colored computer desk. I want a new chair that is red or orange, any other color except brown. I also want a comfortable chair. The chair I am sitting in now is uncomfortable and it causes my back to hurt. In addition, when I lean back it makes a squeaking noise. I am afraid it will break when I lean back in it.

It is important for Office Chairs to be comfortable and beautiful. I want an ergonomic chair that is beautiful and comfortable. I want a chair that I can lean back in safely because leaning back in the chair helps when I read information displayed on my computer screen. I still have to decide if I want a chair with or without armrest.

Writing at the end of the Day

    Kamál (Perfection), 15 Jamál (Beauty), 165 B.E. – Monday, May 12, 2008 about 6:25 PM PDT

It is nearing the end of a long and weary day. I say weary because I had a doctor's appointment at 3:00 PM. I arrived at 2:45 PM and filled out the paper work. Then I waited until the nurse called me into the examining room. Before going to the examining room, she took my weight.

In the examining room, the nurse took my blood pressure and temperature. Then I waited longer to see the doctor. I came away with two prescriptions and an appointment next Monday, May 19 for lab tests. For those I have to fast 12 hours before the test. I scheduled the tests for 8:00 AM Monday morning.

Today I took in the atmosphere of the clinic and the patients waiting to see the doctor. I did not take notes or read anything. I looking around the waiting room and the eximining room. I am not sure yet just what I am going to write about it. I have written several waiting room poems, but I have never written an examining room poem.

The interesting thing about the examining room was the magazine lying on the examine table or would it be called the examine bed. The magazine was a Harper's Bazaar about fall fashions. I am not sure of the year. The important information about the magazine is the topic (Fall Fashions) and this is spring going on summer. I glanced through the magazine and all the models looked like zombies, beautiful emotionless zombies. I think I will use that as the theme or the title of the poem.

I need an office with a door

    Fidál (Grace), 2 Jamál (Beauty), 165 B.E. – Tuesday, April 29, 2008 about 7:05 PM PDT

I need an office with a door. I want a private office with a door that I can shut. An office that I can go into and write without distractions. My computer is in the living room. My office is part of a shared living space. My desk is next to the living room window.

Having my computer and desk next to the picture window helps my muse. Having an office in a room shared with other is distracting. There are advantages and disadvantages to having an office in a room without a door. Sometimes it would be easier to write if I could go into a home-office and write without distraction.

Sometimes I just want to go into a room and shut the world out. Sometimes I want to shut the world out and write until I have written the subject out. Sometimes I want to work on a novel, short story, or poem without any distractions. Then sometimes I want to write with people around. Therefore, I need an office with a door that I can shut.

If I had a private home-office, I could go in and shut the door. When I wanted to be alone and write I could. When I wanted to be with other people and write I could. An office with door that I could shut and lock would give me that option. I do not have that option now.

Now the only time I can be alone and write is when everyone else in the house is asleep. There was a time when I could stay up all night, catch an hour or so of sleep and go to work. Now I need at least six hours of sleep and three or four cup of coffee to function at an acceptable level. When I do not get enough sleep at night, I fall asleep during the day.

I want a private home-office with a door that I can shut and lock. This way when I wanted to be alone and write, I could shut and lock the door. This way when I wanted to have someone else in the room I could leave the door unlocked and open. I think I just want the option to be alone with my thoughts and my writing.
