Funny Friday: The Reason I Log Into Facebook on Friday

I have a tendency toward depression. Sometimes I wake up in a negative mood and sometimes I wake up in a positive mood. When I am in a negative mood, I press the snooze button on my cellphone alarm  five or six times. When I am in a positive mood I either get up when the alarm goes off or press the button only once. If I press the snooze button more then once it throws off my medication schedule, which throws off my schedule for the rest of the day putting me behind in everything I plan.

For the past month or so I have found Friday a depressing day. I do not know why, but my blue mood, my brown study, has been worse on Friday morning then any other day of the week. The first thing I do on Friday morning is log onto Facebook because I am guaranteed to find several funny items which will cause me to laugh for five or six minutes each. Some of the items I laugh about every time I remember them. I laugh and my negative mood changes to a positive mood. If I started to get depressed then I log onto Facebook again and look for something funny to change my mood.

When I am in a depressed and negative mood I cannot write because I have difficulty focusing on what I am writing. When I am in a negative mood I cannot give quality reviews because I find it difficult to focus on what I am reading. Laughing at the funny posts I find on Facebook changes my negative mood into a positive mood because the laughter release endorphins in my brain. I have more writing to do this morning, so heres to a laughter filled funny Friday.

    Thankful Thursday: On the first Thankful Thursday of 2014

    On the first Thankful Thursday of 2014, I am grateful...

    1. ...for the blessing of Facebook because it keeps me in touch with extended family member and old friends;
    2. ...for the freshly ground Kona coffee blend I am sipping this morning and the realization that I need to sit my coffee grinder to a finer grind;
    3. ...for the soft pink clouds I see as I look out the living room window because they foretell the rising of the sun over Sunrise Mountain;
    4. ...that I got out of bed this morning without a lot of knee pain;
    5. ...for writing.com and a portfolio where I can store my written work;
    6. ...for Soulpancake where I can go to look at interesting videos and find ideas for writing;
    7. ...for Youtube where I can go to look at more interesting videos;
    8. ...that it is a beautiful partly cloudy morning in Las Vegas;
    9. ...for the delicious pacific cod and black eyed peas I ate on New Year's Day;
    10. ...for the Revelation of Baha'u'llah and the inspiration I receive from reading and meditating on the Baha'i scriptures.

    Saturday Review a Haibun-Haiku

    Saturday morning
    the trashcan rolled to the curb
    moon shining through clouds

    I rolled the trashcan to the curb between 5:00 and 5:30 am and, as I was returning to the house, I looked up at the moon. The crescent (either the waxing or waning) was shining through gray clouds, which explains why it seems so cold chilly this morning.

    fresh dark silk coffee
    its hot smooth heavenly taste
    warms aching fingers

    When I came back inside, I poured myself a cup of hot and fresh coffee. The heat from the coffee cup warmed my arthritic joints, so that I could use the keyboard without difficulty. Then I sit down at the computer, I logged into writing.com to check my e-mail and respond to any reviews. The next thing I did was update my Facebook status and after that I went back to writing.com to post an entry in my blog.

    Facebook addiction
    numerous status updates:
    Am I wasting time?

    The entry for Snow Melt discussed the possibility fact that I'm addicted to updating my Facebook status. Therefore, for the next 365 few days I am attempting to update my status only twice a day. I do not know if this will work because if my mind is not occupied when I am online then I go to Facebook and update my status or check the responses to my last update.

    2013 is winding down

    There are nine days left in 2013 and I'm getting tired of all the crap and negativity. I'm seriously considering unfriending several people on Facebook in 2014 because of the negativity. I'm also going to git rid of the negative element in my personal life. I'm looking for positive things that I can add to my life and positive people I can add to my list of friends.

    I'll be 67 years old on December 24 and dealing with negativity and crap is becoming more difficult all the time. I dislike my own negative thoughts and am working on becoming more positive. I have decided that if I want to be positive then I have to deal with positive people most of the time. I can handle a little negative without it effecting me, but after a while it becomes too much and I start reacting negatively. I don't like reacting negatively to negative people or situations because it just make matters worse.

    I've been thinking about this subject for several days; however, for some reason today was the day the negativity became too much. Perhaps it's a reaction to my upcoming birthday and the realization that I'm not getting any younger. I also suspect that negativity has a detrimental effect on my health. Since I'm going to attempt to take charge of improving my health in 2014, I also think I should take charge of getting rid of the negativity in my life.

    I'm also going to try making my writing a little more positive. I may have to make an exception if one of my characters is negative, but otherwise I can work toward making some of my work positive. I know that the world is full of bad and negative events, so I do have to put some of that in my writing. However, I don't have to focus on everything that negative.

    I feel Disconnected from the world

    My cell phone is not sending or receiving calls. I need a new phone or a phone cord for my landline. I feel disconnected from the world. This is one more reason I should log onto my Facebook page everyday. I still have to send e-mails to both my brothers about this, so that they do not get worried if they attempt to call. Unfortunately, I cannot send an e-mail to my sister because she does not have an online presence.

    I posted to my Facebook page about this problem, so now all I have to do is send the e-mails to the appropriate people. I contacted my provider through e-mail and received a reply. It may take up to 48 hours for them to solve the problem, in the mean time I feel disconnected from the world. I am not, because my computer and television still work. I just cannot make any phone calls.

    I can pick up the landline voice mail over the internet; I cannot contact anyone back until I get a working phone. This is another reason I need to get Skype. The problem is that I am not sure I have room on my computer for the software. My computer runs slow most of the time anyway, I have to solve this problem as well. I will close this post and send the e-mails.

    I have a Facebook account

    I finally got a Facebook account; I would not have conisered getting an account of Facebook if my brother had not invited me. I check the account about two or three times a week and update my information about every couple of months. In fact, I have to go on later today and write on my wall. I will put an update about my mother, who got a new pair of glasses today.

    I joined Facebook

    I've been considering joining for sometime, but just haven't gotten around to it. Today I received a reminder that my brother invited me to join, so I joined today. I didn't complete my profile today, I uploaded a photo, I put in my high school, graduation year, my home town and where I live today.

    I'll update my profile tomorrow and continue to update it until I'm happy with the information in the profile. I have couple of writing projects to complete today, so I won't go back to Facebook until I've completed those projects. I think I'm going to enjoy my Facebook experience.
