    Saturday Morning in Las Vegas

    Saturday morning
    Trashcans and recyclable
    Bins set at the curb

I watched the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics last night. I went to bed about 12:30 AM, consequently I didn't get up until about 6:00. The recyclable bins and trashcans are supposed to be setting at the curb by 7:00.

The first thing I did, even before making coffee, was take two recyclable bins to the curb. I then started to roll the trashcan to the curb, but I saw the man who goes through the recyclable bins looking for plastic bottles. I invited him into my garage and let him take all the plastic bottles I put in cardboard boxes to take to the curb on recyclable day. He took all the plastic bottles I had, so I didn't have to take the boxes to the curb and then carry them back to the garage when he emptied them.

    Recycling Plastic Material

HDPE stands for High Density Polyethylene. Regrind HDPE buys and sells this recyclable plastic material. This is the type of plastic used consumer products. High Density Polyethylene is a plastic material between 0.941 and 9.965 grams polyethylene.

Uses for HDPE include packaging for snake foods, cereal box liners and water bottles. Other uses for this material are water pipes, plastic milk jugs, bottles for detergents and industrial chemical packages.

HDPE is collected, cleaned to remove the contaminants and then sold to manufacture new products. Some of the products made from this recyclable plastic are clothing, carpets, and plastic lumber to name just a few.

Recycling plastics helps the environment. HDPE Scrap comes in a multitude of colors, forms, shapes. The cleaner and better sorted this plastic is the more it is worth.
