Editing in Las Vegas
Fidál (Grace), 4 ‘Azamat (Grandeur), 165 B.E. – Tuesday, May 20, 2008 about sunset PDT
It is the end of a hot and windy day. I am setting in my living room looking at the evening sky. When I walked from work to my car this afternoon, it felt as if I was walking in a blow dryer. I got the same feeling taking the trashcans to the curb this evening.
Tomorrow is trash pick-up day and I just took the trashcans to the curb. As I drug the cans down the driveway, I realized that taking out the trash is similar to editing a story. Any words you take out is like removing clutter from your house. You remove words and images from the story that does not carry the plot and in the same manner, you remove trash and clutter from your house to make it livable.
