Johnny Depp plays Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Todd unjustly accused of a crime and sent to prison. He vowed revenge for both the punishment and the effect it had on his wife and daughter. When he gained release, he returned to get that revenge. He sets up his shop and many of his customers disappear completely. His accomplice is Mrs. Lovett who makes meat pies.

Revenge is central to the plot of Sweeney Todd and Mr. Todd get revenge in an unusual way. Sweeney Todd's so focused on revenge that he can see nothing else, not even Mrs. Lovett's desire for him. This is a case of revenge completely consuming the person getting the revenge.

This is a case of true revenge, because Sweeney Todd does not just go for the person who sent him to jail and broke up his family, but for the entire city. The men he shaves disappear afterwards are, in many cases, ordinary citizen. They enter his barbershop for a shave and never leave. The man he is seeking revenge on will come into his barbershop. However, in the mean time, Sweeney Todd will take his revenge out on the citizen who come into his shop for a shave.

Sweeney Todd's method of revenge is simple. The customer comes into the shop for a shave. Sweeney shaves, the man, gets his revenge and disposes of the body. The way he disposes of the body makes sure it is never found. Deciding on a favorite scene in this movie is difficult because they all carry the plot along.
