If I had my way

If I had may way ...
I would have a house far away
from the cold, the snow, and the desert.

A cottage in a climate
where a hot wind warmed
cold December days
and a cool ocean breeze chilled
hot August nights.

If I had my way
I would live in a hamlet
where everyone knew everybody else
and worried about the welfare of their neighbors
because they knew
that their neighbors safety
guaranteed their own security.

If I had my way
I would live in a multicultural neighborhood
where each person spoke
and waved to the neighbors
every morning when leaving for work
and every evening when coming home.
