I'm Looking forward to Thanksgiving

I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving,
to the turkey and the ham,
to the joy of seeing relatives again.
I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving,
to not cooking in a Microwave,
to the drive across the valley to Henderson.
I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving,
to thanking the creator for His gifts,
to writing a poem and a story
to giving my grandnieces a forehead kiss.
I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving
to the memories created and shared
to telling my nieces about the great grandma
and memories that family meals bring back.
