Don't go out during the heat of the day

It's summer and August in Las Vegas, with humidity and triple digit temperatures. This is the best time of year to stay home and write. The day light hours is a good time to write, especially if you are inside with air conditioning. All thought, if you keep the temperature too low in summer you can't afford the electric bill.

There are two times of year in Las Vegas, when the electric bill is out of reason. Those season are summer and winter. Despite what people tell you about Las Vegas in the wintertime it gets cold here. This is the high desert and it gets cold. It doesn't get cold enough to snow in the Las Vegas valley, but it does get cold.

I learned something about the Las Vegas valley Thursday or Friday. The weather person explained that this isn't really a valley. It's a bowl instead. A valley has mountains on two side of it, but mountains surround Las Vegas. That makes Las Vegas a bowl rather then a valley. Well, whatever it is, it gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter, which give us high power bills.
