Where do ideas come from?

Where do ideas come from?
They do not just pop out of thin air
they must come from somewhere.
Do ideas come from
a writer's soul or an author's mind
jus where do they come from.
My ideas come from a thousand and one sources.
I look up at the moon
and see a face smiling at me;
the logical explanation,
of course,
is craters on the moon
and from a distance they just
resemble a face
because the human mind likes patterns
and sees a face in the moon.
Logical explanations are wonderful,
but they do not satisfy
the creative element in humanity.
Ideas come from everywhere,
you find them in jars of pickles,
you find them in tubs of tooth pastes,
you find them any and everywhere,
but you must look for them,
you cannot be satisfied with the logic
of a logical explanation.
A creative spirit cannot stay within the lines,
it must be free to color its world
the way it wants.
