Poetry form of the week: The difference between Haiku and Senryu
I posted two poems earlier today. One of the poems was a
haiku, which is a Japanese 3-line 17-syllable poem. The syllable count is 5-7-5
and the subject of this form is nature, weather, animals, etc.
The other poem was a senryu, which is a 3-line 17-syllable
Japanese form. The syllable count is also 5-7-5, but the subject of this poem
human nature, activities, etc.
