Friday Feels Like Monday
It's Friday,
but it feels like Monday
with the shadows of depression
stalking me.
It isn't Funny Friday,
because I can't see the humor
in triple digit temperatures
and sever weather warning.
It's Friday,
I have to pick up a prescription
and go to the bank,
but they both open at 9:00 am
when the temperature raises
to 100 degrees.
It's Friday,
I can't see the laughter
in four 45 air conditioning because
that's what I have
in my car.
It's Friday,
I have to get out in the heat carrying
a bottle of ice water
and driving a car
with all the windows rolled down;
I want a car with real
air conditioning.
but it feels like Monday
with the shadows of depression
stalking me.
It isn't Funny Friday,
because I can't see the humor
in triple digit temperatures
and sever weather warning.
It's Friday,
I have to pick up a prescription
and go to the bank,
but they both open at 9:00 am
when the temperature raises
to 100 degrees.
It's Friday,
I can't see the laughter
in four 45 air conditioning because
that's what I have
in my car.
It's Friday,
I have to get out in the heat carrying
a bottle of ice water
and driving a car
with all the windows rolled down;
I want a car with real
air conditioning.
