Haibun-Haiku: Autumn birds

in the day’s first light
a bird serenades the sun
warming morning’s air

This morning, when I went out to pick up the newspaper I heard a bird singing. I am not sure what species of bird because I did not see it. It could have been a sparrow or a nightingale. The bird nested in the pine tree that grows in my front yard. The bird continued to sing until dawn and then it moved to my back yard, where it sing while I heated water for Mom’s bath.
