Spring in Las Vegas

It's spring in Vegas
and it's April poetry month;
this is the year of the early Easter,
my muse isn't too unhappy about that
though she would have like to write
a resurrection poem -
that will have to wait until next year.
Now the clouds cover the blue sky,
clouds that neither promise nor threaten rain;
the weather report
(the one I get in my e-mail box)
promise warmer temperatures
80 degree highs and 50 degree lows
with variable winds.
Today
my muse will have to be satisfied
with this,
I am behind and need to catch up
before settling down to write a Quadrilew form poem.
