Waking my Muse up
Kamál (Perfection), 11 Baha (Splendor), 165 B.E. – March 31, 2008 about 7:24 AM PDT
I wake my muse up with prayer
intoned in dawn's first light;
she must started the day with God
before she can help me write.
After my prayers are said
a hot cup of Columbia's dark brew
starts the verse flowing
and brings the next story into view.
Prayer and coffee in the morning
begins the day just right
as the rest of the day goes well
when I recite prayers in the day's first light.
