Writing about time on Thursday
Istijlál (Majesty), 12 ‘Alá (Loftiness), 164 B.E. – Thursday, March 13, 2008 about 5:45 AM PST
I listen to the ticking of the clock;
I watch its hand move from number to number
carrying my life into the unseen future.
I listen to the ticking of the clock;
I think about the events of yesterday
and the day before.
Yesterday,
I waited and wasted time waiting;
the day before I waited and wasted time wating.
Time passes
we wait for tomorrow
while wasting time today;
tomorrow comes,
but the time wasted never returns.
I make the resolve today
to waist no more waiting time;
from this day forward
my waiting time is time to use
in prayer or pursue of goals.
I listen to the ticking of the clock;
I watch its hand move from number to number
carrying my life into the unseen future.
I listen to the ticking of the clock;
I think about the events of yesterday
and the day before.
Yesterday,
I waited and wasted time waiting;
the day before I waited and wasted time wating.
Time passes
we wait for tomorrow
while wasting time today;
tomorrow comes,
but the time wasted never returns.
I make the resolve today
to waist no more waiting time;
from this day forward
my waiting time is time to use
in prayer or pursue of goals.
