The first day of spring approaches

The first day of spring approaches. This is a wonderful time of year because the trees are leafing and the flowers are blooming. There is new life everywhere. The days are noticeable longer and I can turn off the heat.
I have not checked the date and time, which the sun crosses the vernal equanox. I may do that later, but the exact time spring begins is not as important as the season effect on life and on writing poetry. Spring is a good season for poets because there are so many new flowers and leaves. My muse seems to work best in spring and winter, I am not sure why.

Spring approaches
on the soft paws of baby animals
bringing joy to farmers
and a New Year to nature.
