Write about an eclipse

Daily Writing Practice Prompt for Thursday, July 30, 2009: “Write about an eclipse.”

Dragons eat the sun
demons consume the solar disk
humanity covers its eyes.

I'm going to have to do some more research about eclipse mythology. Some of the myths are interesting and creative. I think the only time I've ever witnessed a solar eclipse is on television. I have witnessed a total lunar eclipse, but that is a different poem.
