It is Friday, July 13, 2012, and it is supposed to be bad
luck. It is the end of a workweek and the beginning of the weekend. It is Mom’s
last day at the daycare center until Monday. I am staying home today, but not
because Friday the Thirteenth is bad luck.
I am staying home because I am behind on housework (a normal
condition) and writing assignments. I have to complete all of the writing
before Monday; therefore, I expect to be up most of Friday and Saturday night.
I might as well be working on something because I do not sleep very well any
more. Keeping an ear out for Mom crying about something prevents a good night’s
sleep.
